Netherlands Highly Skilled Migrant Salary Thresholds 2025

The IND updates salary thresholds annually for highly skilled migrants (kennismigranten). Meeting these amounts is mandatory for visa sponsorship.

2025 Thresholds (Excluding Holiday Allowance)

  • Age ≥ 30: €5,331 gross per month.
  • Age < 30: €3,909 gross per month.
  • Graduates / Zoekjaar permits: €2,801 gross per month.
  • EU Blue Card: €6,245 gross per month.

Employer Responsibilities

Recognised sponsors must monitor salary compliance, pay monthly via Dutch bank accounts, and include vacation allowance to verify totals. Contracts should specify gross pay, working hours, and job titles consistent with highly skilled criteria.

Employee Considerations

Salary reductions below thresholds jeopardise permits. Keep payslips, review annual wage statements (jaaropgaaf), and report changes to the IND within four weeks. Combine the skilled migrant permit with the 30% ruling when eligible.
